Start on the Rust page to choose the server and region you want. These steps work with each server listed there.
Join manually
- Open the Rust page and copy the address of your chosen server.
- Launch the game and press F1 to open the console.
- Type
client.connect, a space, then the copied address. Press Enter. - Wait for the server to load, then close the console.
Use the Join server button
Where a server offers a Join server button, it asks your browser to open Steam with that server address. Steam and the game must be installed. Approve the browser prompt if you want to continue; the game may still ask you to select a character or enter its password.
If the button does not connect, use the manual steps above. Browser settings, the running game, or the server configuration can affect launch links.
