If your usual Satisfactory server stops accepting connections—or you arrive as a new pioneer—take a moment to identify which problem you have. A connection failure and an empty inventory need different checks.
A new character does not necessarily mean a reset
Coffee Stain explains that characters are tied to an online player ID. Playing while disconnected from the online session service can cause the game to treat you as a different player. Restart the game and confirm that you are signed in with your usual account before reconnecting. Official account and inventory troubleshooting.
Tell staff if your old character is still visible. Let the crew help identify the correct character before attempting inventory recovery or assuming the world has been replaced.
Check the release and version
Compare your client’s version and branch with the server information. Release and Experimental are separate choices; players need compatible versions to share a session. Official wiki multiplayer checklist.
If the game crashes or behaves strangely
Coffee Stain recommends verifying installed files. In Steam, use Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity of game files; in Epic, use the game’s library management menu and its Verify option. Developer troubleshooting advice.
Give the crew a useful report
- Include the server name, client version and whether you use Steam or Epic.
- Describe whether you cannot connect, disconnect after joining, or appear as another character.
- Record the time and exact message, and mention whether other players are affected.
If those checks do not resolve it, open a private support ticket. Do not upload or replace a server save as a player troubleshooting step; staff can investigate the session and account mapping.
