Start on the Valheim page to choose the server and region you want. These steps work with each server listed there.
Join manually
- Open the Valheim page and copy the address of your chosen server.
- Launch the game and select your character.
- Open Start Game → Join Game → Add server. Enter the copied address, then select the server and connect.
- Enter the player password if prompted. Ask staff privately if you need access.
Use the Join server button
Where a server offers a Join server button, it asks your browser to open Steam with that server address. Steam and the game must be installed. Approve the browser prompt if you want to continue; the game may still ask you to select a character or enter its password.
If the button does not connect, use the manual steps above. Browser settings, the running game, or the server configuration can affect launch links.
Before you join
If direct joining is unavailable on a crossplay server, ask staff for its join code. Keep your client and any required mods matched to the server.
